Dabei kommen unter anderem lufttexturierte Filamentgarne zum Einsatz: Durch kleine, verschlungene Schlaufen bekommen die Garne mehr Volumen und eine weniger glatte, charakteristisch strukturierte Oberfläche. Jahrhundert tatsächlich häufig aus Wolle. Das Victoria and Albert Museum beschreibt auch den kleinen Haken daran: Im Wasser nahm die Wolle Feuchtigkeit auf und verlor dadurch ihren Sitz.
